Why Most Bloggers Are Stuck – Reporters vs Experts

There are basically two types of bloggers in the world – reporters and experts – and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it’s hard for reporters to become experts, but it’s easy for experts to report).
If you have ever taken an Internet marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies. Whenever the business model is based on content, and if you blog for money then the model is based on content, people are taught to either start as reporters, or if possible step up as experts.
I’ll be frank – you want to be the expert.
Reporters leverage the content of the experts and in most cases people start off as reporters because they haven’t established expertise. Experts enjoy the perks of preeminence, higher conversion rates because of perceived value, it’s easier to get publicity, people are more likely to seek you out rather than you having to seek others out, joint ventures come easier, etc… experts in most cases simply make more money and attract more attention.
Most Bloggers Are Reporters
The thing with expertise is that it requires something – experience. No person becomes an expert without doing things and learning. Bloggers usually start out without expertise and as a result begin their blogging journey by talking about everything going on in their niche (reporting) and by interviewing and talking about other experts (reporting again).
There’s nothing wrong with reporting of course and for many people it’s a necessity at first until you build up some expertise. Unfortunately the ratios are pretty skewed when it comes to reporters and experts – there are a lot more reporters than there are experts, hence reporters tend to struggle to gain attention and when they do, they often just enhance the reputation of the expert they are reporting on.
Don’t Replicate Your Teacher
If you have ever spent some time browsing products in the learn Internet marketing niche you will notice a pattern. Many people first study Internet marketing from a “guru” (for lack of a better term). The guru teaches how he or she is able to make money online, and very often the view that the student gleams is that in order to make money online you have to teach others how to make money online.
The end result of this process is a huge army of amateurs attempting to replicate what their teacher does in the same industry – the Internet marketing industry – not realizing that without expert status based on a proven record and all the perks that come with it, it’s next to impossible to succeed.
Even people, who enjoy marginal success, say for example growing an email list of 1,000 people, then go out and launch a product about how to grow an email list of 1,000 people. Now I have no problems with that, I think it’s fine to teach beginners and leverage whatever achievements you have, the problem is that people gravitate to the same niche – Internet marketing – and rarely have any key points of differentiation.
How many products out there do you know of that all claim to teach the same things – email marketing, SEO, pay per click, affiliate marketing, and all the sub-niches that fall under the category of Internet marketing. It’s a saturated market, yet when you see your teachers and other gurus making money teaching others how to make money (and let’s face it – making money as a subject is one of the most compelling) – your natural inclination is to follow in their footsteps.
If the key is to become an expert and you haven’t spent the last 5-10 years making money online, I suggest you look for another niche to establish expertise in.
Report on Your Process, Not Others
The secret to progress from reporter to expert is not to focus on other experts and instead report on your own journey. When you are learning how to do something and implementing things day by day, or studying other people’s work, you need to take your process and what you do as a result of what you learn, and use it as content for your blog.
It’s okay to talk about experts when you learn something from them, but always relate it to what you are doing. If you learn a technique from an expert it’s fine to state you learned it from them (and affiliate link to their product too!) but you should then take that technique, apply it to what you are doing and then report back YOUR results, not there’s. Frame things using your opinion – your stories – and don’t regurgitate what the expert said. The key is differentiation and personality, not replication.
Expertise comes from doing things most people don’t do and then talking about it. If you do this often enough you wake up one day as an expert, possibly without even realizing how it happened, simply because you were so good at reporting what you did.
You Are Already An Expert
Most people fail to become experts (or perceived as experts) because they don’t leverage what they already know. Every person who lives a life learns things as they go, takes action every day and knows something about something. The reason why they never become an expert is because they choose not to (which is fine for some, not everyone wants to be an expert), but if your goal is to blog your way to expertise and leave the world of reporting behind you have to start teaching and doing so by leveraging real experience.
Experience can come from what you do today and what you have done previously; you just need to take enough steps to demonstrate what you already know and what you are presently learning along your journey. I know so many people in my life, who are experts simply by virtue of the life they have lived, yet they are so insecure about what they know, they never commit their knowledge to words for fear of…well fear.
Blogs and the Web in general, are amazing resources when you leverage them as a communication tool to spread your expertise because of the sheer scope of people they can reach. If all you ever do is talk to people in person and share your experience using limited communication mediums, you haven’t much hope of becoming an expert. Take what you know and show other people through blogging, and you might be surprised how people change their perception of you in time.
Reporting Is A Stepping Stone
If your previous experience and expertise is from an area you want to leave behind or you are starting from “scratch”, then reporting is the path you must walk, at least for the short term.
Reporting is a lot of fun. Interviewing experts, talking about what other people are doing and just being part of a community is not a bad way to blog. In many cases people make a career of reporting (journalism is about just that), but if you truly want success and exponential results, at some point you will have to stand up and proclaim yourself as someone unusually good at something and then proceed to demonstrate it over and over again.
Have patience and focus on what you do to learn and then translate that experience into lessons for others, and remember, it’s okay to be a big fish in a small pond, that’s all most experts really are.

Get Paid to Write Reviews on Your Blog

There are several relatively easy ways to make some money from your blog such as using Google AdSense, selling private ad spots, and writing reviews. The downside with using Google AdSense and trying to sell private ad spots is your blog must have enough traffic to generate the clicks or page impressions. My guess is most of you aren’t getting hundreds of visitors to your blog each day (not yet at least) so you aren’t making much money from those methods of advertising.
So where does that leave us? If you haven’t heard of writing reviews on your blog to generate a decent stream of income then you might want to check it out.

How does writing reviews make me money?

It’s actually easier than you think. The first step is to sign up with a blog review network and submit your blog. Some of these companies have rules in place like the age of your blog (at least 6 months old, etc), where it’s hosted (blogspot, wordpress, etc), and page rank. They try to weed out spam blog sites which are usually not very old or of good quality. Make sure you read the fine print before you spend your time applying only to find out you don’t qualify.
Assuming your blog is approved, you can now browse the review marketplace looking for reviews to write about or another option is to wait for someone to approach you. I recommend you be the aggressor and sift through the marketplace so you can start making money asap.
Once you find a review you’d like to write about and meet the criteria to qualify, just take it and begin. You’ll create your blog post and follow the requirements of the reviewer, then submit it for approval. After it’s approved, you get paid. Pretty easy huh?

What blog review networks do you recommend?

There are several companies out there who pay you to write reviews on your blog but only two of them are worth talking about in my opinion. They are Sponsored Reviews and Pay Per Post.

Sponsored Reviews is great because they allow you to search for advertisers directly and bid on jobs. Their bidding system allows you to negotiate rates with advertisers in order to maximize your earnings. They also provide the largest payout of all review networks by only taking a 35% commission for their services. That means you can earn anything from $10 to 500+ for each review. Their user interface is one of the better ones out there and the only drawback to their service is the lack of advertisers. I’m sure it will continue to grow it’s advertising base so they are at least worth a look.
One other perk is their affiliate program. Earn up to $175 per Advertiser and $90 Per Blogger referred. Payouts are based on money spent by the advertiser and money earned by the blogger. See the chart below for payouts. Their average advertiser spends several hundred dollars so most referrals will be worth at least $25 (according to their website).

You’ll then want to put one of their ads on your site or a text link to start taking advantage of their referral bonuses. Can’t hurt to get an ad on your blog right? Get started with Sponsored Reviews now.

Next up we have PayPerPost which is another great pay for review site. They offer the largest sponsored blogging network with the greatest amount of offers along with a forum where bloggers can post questions, etc. They also pay you a $20 bonus after you complete your first review post. The review post is easy…you just need to write about PayPerPost and they give you $20. Pretty quick way to make a quick $20.
One bad thing I noticed while browsing their marketplace is the restrictions on a few of the reviews. For example, you couldn’t write a review and post it on blogspot.com, wordpress.com, or myspace.com and you must be located in North America, Asia, or Europe only. That doesn’t mean if you have a blogger blog or wordpress blog using your own domain or hosted on your own site you can’t write a review. All I’m saying is make sure you read the review details carefully so you don’t waste your time writing a post only to discover you won’t get credit for it.
They also have a scoring system which might be a barrier to you on some post reviews. It’s usually the higher payouts that are looking for nice reviews from established high ranking sites. They utilize Google Page Rank and Amazon’s Alexa rankings to factor in what your site’s “score” will be.
PayPerPost also offers a referral affiliate program with some pretty nice payouts as well. You will get paid $15 for each referral once the referees first blog posting is reviewed, approved and then finally accepted 30 days later. This means they need to go all the way through the process in order for it to be a legit referral. Again, not a bad payout for just putting a banner or link on your blog. It’s cool because you can see which referrals you currently have signed up and the total amount you potentially could earn (assuming they convert all the way mentioned above).

Summary

If I were you, I’d sign up for both Sponsored Reviews and PayPerPost and see which one works best for you. There is no rule preventing you from having two accounts and writing reviews from both sites and you can promote whichever you choose. That’s what I did and it also gives you a bigger selection of available reviews to write. After you sign up, make sure you get some affiliate banners on your blog so you have another avenue to make money. Just imagine if you write a dozen or so reviews a month and get a couple referrals. You could easily earn a few hundred extra bucks a month for some pretty minimal work!
I wish these sort of sites were available when I was in college because I had tons of free time and needed to make money. I could have easily earned $500+ a month writing a couple reviews a day!

Create Cool Images With a Wet Floor Effect Maker

Ever since the beginning of “web 2.0″, designers started creating logos or images with reflections that look pretty cool. Most of the time these images are done by professional in-house web designers which most of us bloggers don’t have the skill or access to. Fortunately there are two sites I came across that can add this effect to any image you’d like to apply it to.
The first one is called Wet Floor Maker which has several options such as angle, camera height, brightness, reflectivity, and more. Just upload your image and adjust the options to your liking and voila….you’ve got a cool new wet floor effect image. Here’s the end result of one test image I created:

The second site is called Image Reflection Generator and it doesn’t have nearly as many options as Wet Floor Maker does. The final image did look a bit more professional, however but you have no control over the angle of the reflection which I don’t like. Here’s the same image but after converting it with Image Reflection Generator:

These are convenient and quick ways to create images with a wet floor effect without any photo editing experience. The one thing I don’t like about both of these sites is you can’t preview the image before you click the “create image” button. Several times the end result image wasn’t exactly what I wanted so I had to go back and start over again. Kind of a pain but since the service is free, I can live with it. Try both out and let me know which you like better!

Free Instant Blog Logos

If you’ve already got a blog and you’ve been searching for a cool modern logo to make it unique, I’ve got a great site for you. Logo Instant provides some great free logos in Photoshop format (.psd) which you can easily edit and modify to your liking. Every day they provide a brand new custom Web 2.0 logo
The motto posted on their website is,”You don’t have to spend big bucks anymore for designer, because this service is 100% free”. That’s something most of you can appreciate I’m sure!

For those of you who don’t know how to use Adobe Photoshop (or own it for that matter) then you can either download a free photo editor like Paint.net or Gimp (my personal favorite) to modify the logos. You’ll have to download, install, and spend a few hours getting ramped up before you’d be able to cusomize the logos. It’s not a quick easy thing to do but if you’ve got the time and are ready to learn a new useful skill, then it’s worth doing.

Hongkait.com has put together a nice list of 50 Excellent Blog Footer Designs which will give you some great ideas on how to style your existing footer. I personally enjoy scrolling down to the bottom of sites I visit just to see the type of footer they use. The current eBlog Templates footer layout was influenced from several different sites with a goal of providing our visitors quick popular information across all pages and a chance to see your own myBlogLog picture on our site!

Improve Your Google Rankings in One Easy Step

Having a top rank in Google is the holy grail for anyone who has a website. Organic Google traffic is free advertising and how most bloggers (especially those just starting out) achieve visitors and traffic to their site. It all comes down to a simple numbers game. Essentially, more traffic = more money-making opportunities from your blog. The question is, how do you get ranked higher for my blog posts using Blogger?

Before I tell you how, let me give you a quick lesson is search engine optimization (aka SEO). There are two main components: “off-page” and “on-page” optimization. “Off-page” SEO refers to tactics such as link building. The more websites that point their links to your blog/website, the better. It’s a democratic way of showing Google that your site must be important if lots of people are pointing to it. Even more important with “off-page” inbound links is the actual link text (anchor text) that is used to point to your site.
Here’s my proof. If you search Google for the term “click here” you’ll see that Adobe Reader and Apple’s Quicktime software are in the top 3 results. Why? Because so many other sites are linking to these two sites with “click here” as the anchor text to download their software. That’s the power of “off-page” SEO which you as a blogger can’t do much about besides writing such great unique content that generates lots of links.
So with “on-page” SEO you have complete control over how well you’re optimized for Google. This includes keywords in your post titles, title tags, using header tags (h1, h2) and other tactics. Now the one we’re going to focus on in this article is the blog title tag.
Title tags are one of the most (if not the most) important “on-page” elements to ranking high in Google. Search engines such as Google weigh the importance of each word in the title from left to right. So ideally you want your blog post title all the way to the left and your actual blog name to the right. Below is a perfect example of how this should look. You can also check out our Premium Revolution Template which is currently using this technique as well.

Blogger templates by default don’t come with search engine optimized (SEO) title tags meaning you aren’t maximizing your blog to rank better in Google. If you take a look at your existing Blogger title you’ll see that blogger displays the blog name first then followed by your post title. They have it backwards so let’s get your blog setup properly.
We’re going to have to make a quick edit to your Blogger template which might intimidate some of you but it’s very small and painless. All I ask you to do first is to backup your template just in case you make a boo boo. That makes it easy to revert back without much headache.

Step #1

In your Blogger dashboard, go to “Layout” => “Edit HTML”.

Step #2

In the template code, do a search for this:

Press "Ctrl + A" to Select and "Ctrl + C" to Copy

<data:blog.pageTitle/>. It’s usually in the first 5-10 lines of code in your template near the top.

Step #3

Replace that bit of code with the following code:

Step #4

Save your template and go back to your blog. Click into any individual post and look at the page title.
All your blogger posts are now much better optimized to rank higher in Google. I’m not going to promise you a night and day difference but you’ve taken a step in the right direction. Now just go post unique high quality content so people searching Google will find your blog first!

How to Install Google Analytics on Blogger

Wouldn’t it be nice to know how many people actually visited your blog each day? How about knowing which of your posts are the most popular? Well surprisingly Blogger doesn’t currently offer any native blog analytics but fortunately there is Google Analytics — available for free.
Google Analytics is a great tool that will show you all sorts of useful information about how people found your blog, keywords they searched on to find you, where they came from and even how long they stayed. You’ll learn more about where your visitors come from and how they interact with your blog. This is a must tool if you are trying to build a profitable blog otherwise you are flying blind!
This article will show you how to add Google Analytics to your Blogger blog. It’s a fairly simple process and doesn’t require any technical skill at all.

Step #1 – Setup a Google Analytics Account

Go to Google Analytics and sign in using your Blogger login. If your account doesn’t work for some reason, you can create a new one instead. Once you login you’ll see a screen that looks like this:

Click on the “Sign Up >>” button and proceed to the next step which will ask you for your general information. Website URL, Account Name, Country, and Time Zone. The screen will look like this:

If you noticed, I just put my Blogger url (without the http://) and called it “David’s Account” because this is your top-level container for 1 or 100 different websites so it’s a good idea to name it something more general. The next step will ask you for your contact information which includes your first name, last name, phone number, and country. Easy so far right?

Your last step in signing up will ask you to accept the user agreement terms and conditions which you should read (just kidding…who actually ever reads these entire legal terms anyhow?).

Now this next screen is very important. This is the code you will need to copy and paste into your blogger template. Go ahead and click into the box and it will automatically highlight the entire block of code for you. Now you need to copy that code and paste it into notepad or into a MS Word document. Save it as you’ll need to use it later.

After you click on the “continue >>” button you will be taken to your brand new Google Analytics dashboard! You will see your blogger blog listed but with no analytical data….yet.

Ok, now you are done with setting up your Google Analytics account. The next step is placing the tracking code into your Blogger template so it can report back to Google Analytics and provide you with some cool data points.

Step #2 – Adding GA Tracking Code to Your Blogger Template

This is not a very difficult step even if you are afraid to touch your template code. Login to your Blogger account and then click on the “Layout” => “Edit HTML” tabs. This will bring you to the template code. Before you make any changes, I advice you to back up your template just in case there are any problems. After you’ve done so, continue reading.
Now in the edit template html code window, scroll all the way to the bottom of your template code and look for the tag. There should only be one of these closing tags in your template. If you can’t find it then your template wasn’t properly created and you should add one right above the tag.The tag should always be your last line of code in your template. It signifies the end of your template.
Ok, now go back to the code you saved before in a Word Doc from Google Analytics. You are going to copy it and paste it right above the tag as illustrated in the image below. The yellow highlighted code is the new GA code I just pasted into my template.

Save your template and you shouldn’t get any error messages. If you do, it’s most likely not related to this GA code and something else with your template itself. Assuming you’ve been successful with your save, you are all done embedding the GA code in your template!

Step #3 – Confirm Google Analytics is Tracking

Go back into your Google Analytics account and look at your dashboard. Most likely you will see a little yellow exclamation mark under the “status” column that looks like this: . This means everything isn’t working properly yet which is fine because we are about to tell GA we just added the code. From your dashboard, click on the “edit” link which is located to the far right.

After you click on that link, you’ll see another screen like below. It will say “Tracking Not Installed” followed by a link “Check Status”. You’ll want to go ahead and click on that link which will tell GA to visit your site and look for the new code you just pasted in your template.

Assuming you pasted the code in there as instructed above, GA will find the new code and begin tracking everything on your blog. If you are still having problems, it’s most likely something to do with GA and you should read their help guide to troubleshoot your problem.

The message seen here, “Waiting for Data” means you have correctly setup GA and data is being gathered! Click on the top left Google Analytics logo and it will take you back to your dashboard. From there click on the “View report” link and that’s where all your very important Blogger visitor data will start appearing!

Now it usually takes an hour or so before you will see any data (maybe longer if you don’t get much traffic to your blog) so please be patient. Trust me, you’ll be logging in at least once a day just to see how much traffic your blog is getting. It’s very addicting and powerful information to learn from. You’ll be surprised which posts are your most popular and what countries people are coming from to read your blog.
Google Analytics is very powerful and we have just learned how to install it into your Blogger template. We haven’t even scratched the surface on the features and reporting it can do. For most Bloggers, this will be enough. Data will be collected and you will just review it. Others with more in-depth goals (like selling products or services, creating a sales funnel, etc) will want to spend more time learning GA. Free Image Hosting – Photobucket

Finding a place to park your web images is fairly easy to do these days. The problem is there are dozens of sites out there so how do you know which one to use? If you pick the wrong one, you will usually find out pretty quick. After you spend hours uploading all your images and then linking to them from your website, all of a sudden your image links break and your site is broken with no images.

Most free blog template sites let you download their template but fail to mention anything about the images that go along with it. Some people don’t even realize that images need to be hosted somewhere in order for the template to work properly. They install their newly downloaded template and it just works. Other templates don’t host the images and include the images in a folder which you need to find a place for them to live. People get confused and don’t know what to do.
If you are one of these people or just want a place to drop off your images, then listen up. I’ve been using a great image hosting site called Photobucket ever since I started eBlog Templates. You can use their free service which is great for small sites with not a lot of bandwidth needs or upgrade to their pro plan which gives you unlimited bandwidth for around $25/year.

Here are some other great features of Photobucket:

Keep all your pics and videos in one place – room for up to 10,000 photos and hours of video!
Share with everyone you know by email, IM or mobile phone.
Make slideshows and mashups with music, special effects, captions, and more.
Link to your profile, blog or website. One-click posting, direct to your favorite sites.

I recommend at least setting up an account since it doesn’t cost you anything. Then upload a picture or two just so you’re familiar with how it’s done. If you are currently using a Blogger template that you downloaded for free, it’s probably a good idea to start moving all your images over as well. If you don’t, you’re leaving your images in the hands of someone else and they could delete, move or even put up adult images on your site by just changing the images on their server. Not good.

How To Use Google Custom Fonts For Blogger.

For years, Bloggers and web-designers were using those simple web fonts to style their blogs and templates. They didn’t had an option to change those fonts as there were only some fonts accepted world-wide as web fonts. It was impossible to use another fonts on web pages as they would appear in ten monitors in ten different styles ! Their appearance may change in respect of the change in the OS, softwares … etc of that computers. So web-designers were trapped under those countable fonts…

But now Google has launched their new service Google web fonts with the slogan – ‘Making the Web Beautiful!’. This service will allow you to use custom fonts on google font directory on our blog/ websites without any sign-up or anything else. As it’s from ‘Google’, It doesn’t have any complications and it’s also completely free for commercial and private use.,No restrictions held or no harsh laws. Step 1 : Back-up Your blogger template

It’s always the first step for any blogger tutorial. I’ll be using this step as the first step for all my tutorials on allblogtools. You should always take a back-up of your blogger template before testing any hacks on blogger.
For this, go to Design or layout -> Edit HTML -> Download full template

Step 2 : Select your Font

For this, Go to Google Font directory and select any one of those stylish font, which you want to use on your blog.

Step 3 : Get the Code for your Font

In this tutorial I’ll be using the Tangerine font, Which I liked the Most. For this just click on the name Tangerine and a new windows will open. Select The tab named ‘Get the code‘.

Step 4 : Add the Code to your Blogger template

Now you have to copy the Code they provide and you have to add the code to your blogger template, just after

tag of your blogger template.
The code may look something like;-

Important : ?Please add a Forward slash (“/“) before the the end of the tag (“>”) of this code. i.e, The above code should look like ;-

This is because blogger use XML for coding which won’t allow unclosed tags like this. So you have to close this tag by adding the forward slash.
Now Copy the code and paste it just after

. It should be the first code after the

section. Otherwise it could cause problems while displaying the text in IE and may be in Firefox.
Please remember to add the forward slash before the end tag. and now please click Save Template
now the code required for Google web font has been added to your blog. Now you have to can use google fonts in your blog by applying it on any widget tags.

Step 5 : Add the CSS code for Font to your Blog.

Now the last and final step. In this step, you have to specify where you want to add the font and have to add the css code for it.
If you want to make the font appear for a specific sentence only in your blog post, then use the HTML code ;-

FontName', serif;">Your text

in the above code change
FontName : to the font name that you chosen it from google.
Your text : to any text you want.

you have to add the CSS code for it. Don’t worry, It’s very very easy.
Here I’ll tell you How you can change your post title. For this you have to search for the title css code

This is the common css code for post title in blogger. now we have to add the css code for the new fonts for this code,. For this, add/modify these lines below the above codes.

font-family: 'Your Font Name';

The code should look something like ;-

Here I had added the css code for Tangerine. You should post the css code between the “{” and “}” tags of .post h3. Like wise you can add the css code for other position too by modifying the css code.
Here i’ll mention the main positions and the common css code for each position. Please note that it may change if you are using any custom template.

Title : h1
Post title : .post h3 or .post-title
Post font : .post-body
Sidebar : .sidebar h2

the above tags helps you to change the font for any position of the above 4 tags.
for example, if you want to change the post font,
in the above table, you can see that the tag to edit for the post font, is .post-body
so you have to search for .post-body in your template, and below it, add the following line.

font-family: 'google Font Name';

the final code should looks like

These above values may change in some custom themes. But these are the common seen tags. If you didn’t find the tags with this, try searching similar tags.

go to your blogger account and download your current blogger template.

now let’s do it, don’t worry, i know that must of you tried to add it to blogger blogs, with no result, but today you’ll see how to add it in really easy steps and it’s 100% working. but please be careful and pay attention for all the details.

This tutorial is updated.

Step 1. Disable Default Comments.

The first thing you should do it to disable blogger default comments. because you don’t want to have 2 comments forms.
go to your blogger account, navigate to settings >> comments
and next to comments field choose Hide, then scroll down and click Save Settings

Step 2. Generate your Facebook App ID.

now you should generate your own facebook app id, it’s really easy and one step process,
just go to this page, facebook developers
then click + Set Up New Application
enter your application name, ( you can type any name )
and check agree and click Create Application
then click on Connect tab (on the left tabs-list) or see the next image.

and fill the following info.
Connect URL : Enter your blog url and you must enter it with an ending dash. (for example: http://myblogname.blogspot.com/) .
Base Domain you must type blogspot.com
then click strong>agree and click Save Changes
on the next page facebook will generate you alot of info. you’ll need only one line, it’s App ID:
just copy it and keep any where, we’ll need it in the next steps. please see the following image to see where you’ll find your facebook App ID:.

Step 3. Codes To Add To Your Template.

you must add the following codes to your blogger template to ensure that the comments box will work for your blog in the right way.
and in this step we’ll add the following codes,

SDK script
Open Graph protocol tags

Adding the xmlns attribute :

please go to your blogger account again, and navigate to, layout >> edit html >> and check Expand Widget Templates
then find the following code,

you must type a space before it and after it,

your template is acting like that because it’s a customized template, and to add the avatar to your comments you have to follow the steps in this tutorial, don’t worry it’s too easy.

Log in to your blogger account and go to,

hi all, this must by a happy day for all blogspot users, today blogger announced new feature as part of the Blogger Birthday feature series.

And blogger called it, Show Your Face.
This feature allow you to show your profile photo next to your comment on any blogger blog post,
And you have the full control to enable or disable it.
Check out the Next image to see how it looks like.

So, How It Works

This feature imports the photo from your profile, so if you already uploaded an image to your profile, it’ll be displayed automatically when you post a comment on a blogger blog,
But if you don’t have a profile photo, you may do it in two ways,

. Go to blogger dashboard >> and on the left sidebar you’ll see Edit Profile link, click it, and then scroll down till you see Photograph, and throw this form you can add your photo for your profile, after uploading your photo, scroll to the bottom and click Save Porfile.

. The second way to do it is to go to comment on any blogspot post, and type your comment, then don’t press Post Comment, Press Preview.
and click click Add Profile Picture. and upload your picture,

Customize Blogger “Read More” / “Jump Breaks” Links With image Buttons, Text And Alignment.

I promised you in a previous tutorial, here ” Blogger Now officially Supports “Read more” links. ” that i’ll add a tutorial about customizing your read more links in blogspot.
So you have to check out the previous tutorial if you are not familiar with the new blogger jump breaks addition.
Now is the time for this tutorial,
after reading this tutorial you’ll be able to Customize you read more links in those ways:

Change the text ” read more ” to another words.
Add An Image / Button To Your “Read More / Jump Breaks ” In Blogger Links Instead Of Plain Text
choose your read more link / button to be displayed on left side, right side or center it.

so lets start,

 Please <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD1">download</span> a copy of your <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD5">template</span> before <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD9">applying</span> any changes.

First Step, You Must Do This Step

this code should be included in your blogger template,

after applying the first step to your template, you should have this code added to your template :

Ok, now again, after applying the first step to your template,
you must have this code added to your template

I was so happy with blogger’s new addition “Read more”.

Or as blogger calls it Jump Breaks.

but after using it,

we mentioned some errors with it, and the reason for this problems is not about blogger.

It’s all about you, me, and blogger templates coders.

It’s Not Working At All.

1 .It’s Not Working At All. Why And How To Fix

Why ?

If you still using the old blogger Post editor, After adding this code

You go to your blogspot blog to see how is the new addition works, and you see nothing, there is no read more link and my blog still show the full post.

How To Fix It ?

in this case you should make sure that you inserted this

And notice that there is spaces before the word More and after it, its not

This is wrong code

2. Read More Link Is Not Visible On Your Blog

The read more / Jump Breaks works and your blog displays posts summaries only, but you can’t see the read more link so your readers won’t be able to read the full posts

Why ?

This is because you use custom template and the template coder haven’t added blogger Jump Breaks codes and properties to the template code,

How To Fix It ?

Go to Dashboard >> Layout >> Edit HTML and select “Expand Widget Templates”

then find the next code

And After it add this code

3. LayOut And Side Bar Errors After Using it

After inserting the read more code in your post, it works perfectly, but the sidebar shifts to the blog bottom.

Why ?

the code is inserted between two div tags.

How To Fix It ?

Change your post inputting type to Edit html instead of Compose.

and find the , If it inserted between two div tags. just change the div to span

we’re all waiting for this, Official “read more” links in blogger posts, Easy, guaranteed, and officially supported by Blogger.

For years and years all blogger users tried to place the read more links in blogspot blogs.
we published a tutorial here on allblogtools.com about this hack and how to do it by manually editing template HTML.
but it wasn’t working probably with all bloggers.
few days ago, blogger announced their latest birthday present:Blogger Jump Breaks.
By using Jump breaks you can show only a snippet of your post on your blog index page and archives.
Blogger will insert a read more link after each post so your readers can keep reading by clicking on this link.

How To Use Blogger Jump Breaks.

Actually there is two ways to use Jump Breaks.

1. If you use bloggers new post editor

If you use bloggers new post editor, ( you can use it by enabling it via the Settings tab at your blogger dashboard )
You’ll find that there is new icon on the tab called “Insert jump break”
So while writing your post just click with your cursor where you want to add the Read More Link, And then, click on “Insert jump break” icon.

2. If you don’t use the new blogger post editor

You can insert the read more link buy clicking on Edit Html tab while writing your new post,

to display only the summary of your posts on your blog index page and archive pages.
We’ll make 2 main changes, first for the main template and the second for the post template.
don’t worry. it is easy, simple, and clear way.
before we start please read the next note carefully.

log in to your blogger account.
